Written Guide
To adjust your budget forecasts, start by navigating to the specific Project page you wish to modify. From there, click on the Forecasts tab.
Identifying the Problem
Once on the Forecasts tab, you might notice that your budget projections are not being met as planned. This discrepancy could be due to several factors:
A staff member hasn't logged the expected time or has logged more time than anticipated
The invoiced amount is more or less than what was expected
You instructed the system not to update the details on the last save
Correcting the Revenue Forecast
To rectify these discrepancies, proceed to the Project Details tab. Ensure you've configured the dates you wish to distribute the fee over. Next, edit the value of the fee at the project level and click Save.
The system will prompt you to update the Revenue Forecast as this is the only field it recognizes a change for. Click Save again.
Upon returning to the Forecasts tab, you should now see the Revenue hitting a positive percentage for all projected fees.
Correcting the Staff Expenses Forecast
If the forecasts for the Staff Expenses section are still incorrect, return to the Project Details tab. Click on the Hours Budget field, make your edits, and click Save.
Just as before, the system will prompt you to update the Revenue Forecast. Click Save again.
Now, when you revisit the Forecasts tab, the Staff Expenses budget should be hitting a positive percentage for all projected fees.
By following these steps, you can quickly adjust your budget and update your forecasts as per your project needs.
